Well, Back many years ago, I was a member on here. I had a 91 XL1200 customized with an AME chopper kit, softail style rear fender, stretched tank, custom front fender, forward controls, and upswept pipes. I sold it a few years back, and have been missing it since. It consistently got 52 mpg, and was a blast to ride. Never had any issues with it.
I also have several classic cars including a 70 Ford Galaxie 500, a 53 Studebaker pickup and a 61 Studebaker Hawk, not to mention another 53 Studebaker truck project that may be a diesel dually someday. Yes, too many, if that is possible.
I recently decided to part with the Hawk, and have been trying to sell it or trade for a Harley or Victory bike. I had my eyes on a Victory that was priced quite reasonable, and finally sold my Hawk today. The Victory was no longer available today. My next choice was a Vrod, but the only one in my price range had 45K miles, and was far away. I stumbled upon a 92 XL883/1200 that was raked and customized to my kind of liking, which brought me full circle back to Sportsters.
I have always wanted to check out the newer rubber mount models of 04 and up, so I looked around on CL, and discovered an 06 XL1200C just a few miles from me. I really had no intention of making a deal, but just wanted to sit on it to see if there was much difference from the older style like the 91. Well, as it turns out when I get paid for my Hawk tomorrow, I will own the 06 XL1200C, with only 6k miles on the clock. I fired it up and listened to beautiful sound of the SE pipes. Naturally it comes with a bunch of accessories, and is chromed out about to the max. My favorite color is chrome, and it goes real well with black paint.
So, here I am again... Under a different user since I am not sure what my old one was.
