Ironhead Cam Cover Date Stamps

Hi All,

I am actually I bit confused about the time stamps in the early cam covers and would like to get some information on this.

If you look at the -52 K-Model Cam covers, I have never seen this cast date code (like 4-61) on the cover. The later -52A covers seem to have them, but I have never seen date codes from the 50s ... my 59XLH has a chopped cam cover, so I can not check there.

Did the factory started in the 60s with this time stamp or only on specific models or cast parts?
