I'm far enough along on my Sportster-powered board track replica to be thinking about exhaust pipes.
I want to run a set of pipes with sweeping curves like the early racers used unlike the stockers with their straight sections punctuated by bends. However, I'm having problems finding / getting a set I like.
They just need to have the same starting and finishing points as the stock pipes.
Muffler shop tubing benders put kinks in the tubing, IF they can even manage a large radius bend to begin with.
Shops set up to do mandrel bending aren't interested in any job where they're only making a set or two.
I've got a big Greenlee hydraulic bender for conduit but it still wants to kink the tube because the pressure is concentrated over a short area... even when I try to sneak up on it.
Anybody got any suggestions; places to go, people to talk to, a trick up your sleeve?
