I realize this might be wrong forum to discuss softail hub but since I am using it on my sportster, I hope some of you might know a thing or two about it?
New tires arrived today so I am anxious to mount them on my bike.. I installed tire on front rim, all done. Now I have one small problem.. I am not sure which direction rear tire needs to be on rear rim because I haven't put rear brake disc or chain sprocket on it yet. I am looking for explode pic on 82-87 softail hub but I haven't had any luck on Google. Maybe you can give me a hint what to look for when deciding which side?? Here is pic of my rim taken few months ago.

Hub itself in case you are wondering.. (taken before Powder Coat)

FYI, both side look the same but one side is slight longer than other. I wonder if the side that is slight longer is for chain sprocket and other side is for brake disc? Because the short one will look flat when I put brake disc on it.
