Gentlemen...we have a problem.
I have an 05 Sporty that crapped out on me while at a red light. It turned off and refuse to turn over.
After towing the bike home, I tried the basics of troubleshooting. Battery and electrical were fine. I sprayed some starting fluid in to the carb and she fires up, but does not sustain it. I thought fuel issues.
I took off the tank and took the petcock out. Sure enough, there was sand type material gunking up the filter. I went out and bought another from the Stealership. Put the new petcock in and still nothing. Somehow, fuel is not getting to the carb. I took a look at the fuel line and it had gas in it. I blew it out to see if that was gunked up and it wasn't.
Now, I have my air cleaner off and I have no clue what to do. I am not too savvy with bikes so I am afraid to take the carb out and drop the bowl to see what's going on.
What do you guys think? Help a brother out.
