Ironhead Anyone have a DIPK-7 and the PH-1 harness adapter to lend?
Hi,
I've just recently bought a Ultima single fire programmable ignition kit for my 1976 XLCH kick only Ironhead sportster. That is after my Dyna S crapped out on me. After spending all the money and having it delivered here to Canada, I've found that the unit is set up for "dead revs" for the first three kicks. And the only way I can remedy this is to buy their "DIPK-7 and the PH-1 harness adapter" so I can re-program the unit to fire on first kick.
Does anyone have this cord and software that I'd be able to borrow in order to get this bike on the road? Of course I'd pay for shipping both ways.
Please help!!

got my first bike at 40
Just decided to join in the fun here at xlf. Like I said 3yrs ago I went to local dealer and got an 883 low. Now that it's about paid for I'm starting to do stuff to it. At some point I will get to posting pics, if I can figure that out. Any way, I appreciate you guys' posts that I've been checking out all this time.

Ironhead 67 Fork Sliders-ReChrome Question
I just dropped off my sliders to be rechromed and plater was concerned that the lower part that's welded onto the tube (axle/fender mount casting) was brazed and he could not do if so. Should be easy to tell by grinding chrome off a spot but being impatient I wanted to know.
Anyone know if this is the case? I can't imagine on a critical part it would not be steel welded.

Ironhead XLCH vs. XLH piston?
Hey guys! I'm back after having dropped off the Forum last fall. Family issues involving mom's declining health & my handicapped brother took all of my time. Still, I've managed over the the last few months to overhaul Animal mother's top end. She now has gorgeous silver jugs and heads and I'm waiting to button her up. Just waiting for a top end gasket set.
HOWEVER:
I have one big question before proceeding. Can I use these pistons? (No pix yet--- can't access my photobucket acct.) They are not dished like the relief you find on the intake side of an XLCH piston, just a straight slope on both sides. Is this an XLH piston? Is there any problem with running a piston with no intake valve relief? I've read on the Forum of guys installing their CH pistons backwards to no ill effect.
If I'm wrong in assuming these are XLH pistons, if XLH slugs had the intake relief like the CH, then what are they? They're OEM Harley Davidson .060 over 900 pistons in original HD boxes that were marked "22258-58A". Both are marked .060 & one is marked "B" and the other "D". They're complete with wristpins, spiral locks, rings & factory instructions.
If I can't use'em soes anyone have an extra set of dished .060 over CH slugs?

Rigid_EVO Are spoke rims sealed for tubeless tires any good?
My 2000 Sporty has chrome spoke wheels with a thick black strip over the spoke nipples inside the wheel. This is a seal for tubeless tires, right? Should I trust it or mount a tube?

Fri 13th Port Dover
Our usual plan, which is always subject to last minute change, is to leave London about 10:00 AM, arrive in PD about noon, hang out for a couple of hours, go home.
The usual "north" route goes thru Lyons, Brownsville, Corinth, Guysborough, Glen Meyer, and Walsh [i think :) ].
The usual "south route" goes thru Talbotville and Middlmarch, and basically follows county road 45 until PD is within shouting distance [i think :) ].
We can change the route to accommodate. PM me if you wanna hook up with us.

Dho! What have I done? (Fully Closed Caliper)
Well, being a complete dweeb when it comes to wrenching, I hope there's an easy fix for my stupid move. I replaced my front brake line & so needed to bleed the air from the new one. Was having trouble, so I found a cool tip on Youtube where you pull the caliper off & hang it (still attached) above the bike to get the air bubbles to rise. Let it hang for 10-15 mins or so to give the air time to rise. Then, bleed while still hung. Easy, right? Well, if you're dumb like me then you forget to fit a piece of wood between the pads where the rotor would sit IF it was still mounted. So now I have a full closed caliper with no way to get the pistons back in. Called HD and the guy said I'd have to release all the new fluid to relieve the pressure. Makes sense. But he's concerned (and so am I) abut ruining the caliper pistons when trying to compress them back in with a screwdriver or some other tool. HELP!!

Saddlebag mounting problem
So i recently bought some saddlebags from Viking bags, and am having major troubles mounting them. I want to hard mount them with the included hardware if possible, but the problem im running into is this. The bike we bought had some "upgrades" done to it, one of those being air shocks. These are considerable larger than the stock shocks. Well, the hardware doesnt allow the bags to clear these shocks. Any ideas other than buying stock shocks????
The bike is a 2007 883l

Coil bad again?
P1351 Front Ignition Coil Driver Open/Low
P1354 Rear Ignition Coil Driver Open/Low
P0152 Rear Oxygen Sensor High
PN 32142-07
Under t it reads no rSP
On a trip to west Texas I got these codes tested my coil and it was bad so I replaced it. Problems went away so I thought it was solved. Less than 200 miles on the new coil and I'm getting the same codes. Where do I start to find the real problem before I replace the coil again. Thanks for the help guys all is appreciated.

Installed my Xied!
Purchased the Nightrider Xied's from DK and finally got them installed last night. First thing I noticed a smoother idle and after the ride today I can honestly say they work amazing. Throttle response also seemed to be a bit better as well. Two thumbs up for this product.

xl53c 2001 mid control left foot peg
Hi!
Does anyone know if the left footpeg is supposed to be about 2 cm in front of the right side on these models. I wanted to fit mid controls on my wife sportster which had stock forward controls. I ordered a kit from ebay containing all the parts for sportster 91-03, but I´m not sure that I got the correct left footpeg bracket. When I look from the top the difference is about 2 cm which to me feels a abit strange. Otherwise it fitted perfectly.
Any thoughts?
