Hello Everyone,
My name is Jerry, aka NYCPiper. I'm a professional bagpiper in NYC. I own a 1972 XLCH, had it for about at least 20 - 30 years. Bought it off a friend, rode it alittle something happened with the top end, brought to the dealer they sent it back to Harley. When it came back they tested it, something happened with the tranny and blew the cases. It sat for 10 years. Found a new set of cases rebuilt the whole thing, rode it for awhile, the gears weren't matching up exactly, brought it to the shop, when they tried kicking it over - case cracked. Now it's only electric start. Found a set of cases on ebay - help me out here to confirm these are the correct cases 24534-72, 24558-72. Ordered them maybe next year or so will rebuild it and bring back the kicker as well. I liked having it. Not the pain though. A lot of blood in my bike will never get rid of it. IRONHEAD FOREVER.
I also have a 1970 Truimph Hardtail Chopper, very dependable great bike for here in the city. Last year I picked up a 93' Heritage Softail 6,000 miles on it. Great deal couldn't pass it up. I use it for long rides when I'm doing gigs. I'm fortunate to have a garage to keep and work on the bikes year round.
Look forward to hearing from anybody and if you're in the city stop by.
Thx.
Jerry
