Headlight and turn signal light trouble

I've just taken off the front turn signals because they cleaned the front up better, but my headlight won't work now. All I've done is clipped the three wires that come from the lights and combined them in different combinations to see if I could get them to both blink (this was before I knew what each one was and I am still learning). Correct me if I'm wrong but the headlight shouldn't be affected, right? I'm thinking this might be a different issue...?

Also, I have tested the voltage coming from the yellow wire in the headlight set and I got maybe .3 volts.
