It started the day before yesterday. After a 50 mile ride, I pulled my bike up the ramp and into the shed. Before shutting it down, I always put it in neutral. This time it would not go in so I shut it off. When leaving for work yesterday, the clutch was dragging, so I rode back around the block and came back to adjust the clutch. I stopped at the end of the driveway and it wasn't dragging anymore so I rode in to work. The more I thought about it, I figured screw it, I'm ordering a new clutch and getting rid of the spring plate whether it was the culprit or not. I put the order in on Amazon, and got a Barnett extra plate Kevlar clutch and a Barnett clutch spring compressor. The vendor was Motorcycle Superstore out of Texas. From a past order I learned that they had a local warehouse (in Pennsylvania)that they dropship from and took a chance that they had the parts in this warehouse. I ordered at 2 pm yesterday and it was on my doorstep at 1:46 pm today. I started into it and this is what I found-
The bike has 18200 miles on it. I'm still undecided what kind of oil I will run in the primary. Barnett recommends type "F" ATF or oil specified by HD. I have been running Mobil1 20/50 VTwin Synthetic in the primary with the stock clutch. Any suggestions? Is it ok to stay with the Mobil1?
