I have a 2008 XL standard that I have converted to a 1250 that after sitting in the barn for a few months I got out to ride last week and noticed it was over a quart low in oil. I added oil, and had a friend follow on our ride to check for smoke, he said that he didn't notice any so I checked again for leaks. I noticed what I thought was a case leak. I cleaned it off well, rode it to warm the engine, and rechecked. What I found was a split in the oil tank drain hose near the tank where it is clamp was. The oil was running down the hose, past the grommet and leaking out the seam at the back of the case. So relieved it was just a hose. I really don't want to reseal my case for an oil leak.
