XL1200S Suspension adjustment.

Hi All,

Back on a Sportster after 10 years in the biking wilderness. Got my hands on a lovely black 1200S.

I am setting up the suspension and have a couple of stupid questions:-

Do I turn the top or the bottom of the shock 'sleeve' to alter preload?

Do I need a C-Spanner or will hands do?
