Howdy-
I bought my '06 1200C in June, and it came with longshots on it, baffles are in there. I bought it from a local shop, who took it as a trade for an ironhead, so its history is unknown. It was running lean, backfired and very, very cold-blooded, so I put on an Arlen Ness big sucker and had a local indie rejet the bike for me. It runs GREAT, no complaints there. But it is too loud, and a little too metallic/raspy for my taste. I use earplugs when I ride, always have, more to reduce wind noise than anything, but even with them in, after a 2 hour ride my ears feel it, for sure. So the decision I have to make is, V&H quiet baffle, BCT QQ baffle, wrap the existing baffle with acoustical material, or start over entirely. As I said, it runs very, very strong as is, I'm happy with the performance, completely. And I don't want the bike to be too quiet, as I appreciate the fact that cagers in front of me move out of my way, but I would like to tone it down a bit at idle, and when I am easy on the throttle - in other words ideally I want it loudish when I want, and relatively quiet on long rides and in early morning hours.
I've combed old threads, and there is some conflicting info on the BCT QQ baffle. Some love it, some seem to hate it.
Suggestions?
