V-Twin lists the 70-76 engine sprocket as fitting the 77-78 XLH. How? The seal is different as are the cases and Timken. The 70-76 seal diameter is 1.25 inches while the 77 is 1.5 inches. I recently rebuilt a 77 XLH motor and it used the 1.5 inch seal with the metal casing not the older seal. Can you use the older seal in the 77-78 XLH? I did not think they fit the spring-loaded compensator to the 77-78 bikes anymore either....so what gives? why two diff sprockets for CH and xlh motors? I rarely see 77-up bikes so maybe I'm ignorant????
