Hey Everyone!
Very new to the site
I wanted to pick up a bike to basically get down and learn the mechanics.
I recently picked up a 1993 Sportster 1200 XLH bike. I was told the previous owner was going to take the engine out and put it in his bike. He decided against it and wanted to turn it into a project bike. He needed some quick cash and sold it to me not finished.
I want to get the engine running first before I start spending tons of money. The bike has a new handlebar wiring harness on it (not stock for 1993). He has the old stock wires attached but they're cut. The new harness is not hooked up and I am going through the manual to make sure I get all the correct male/female hookups. I do need to purchase a battery and a throttle assembly.
Just wanted to see if you guys had any advice/tips for a beginner trying to get the engine running! I will post pictures/updates
