I'll start by saying that this is an extremely simple thing to do. The reason I decided to do this thread is because I noticed that people were intimidated or unaware when I was Googling around to do research for new riser bushings and to help eliminate a bit of the handlebar vibration that was aggravating my carpal tunnel.
It's been so cold here that I haven't been doing any riding beyond riding in the city at lower speeds so I can't comment on how effective it is in vibration reduction although I'm sure I will see some positive results based on everything I have read.
Bolt removed as you can see between the fork and the frame there. I found that loosening the headlight was necessary for easier socket(3/4") access. with the headlight loosened, you can push wires out of the way.

A view from beneath. I pulled the bushing out using the can opener on my Leatherman.

This is the bottom bushing pulled out.

Separate the bushing from the tube. You still need that tube. Throw that old bushing away.

Slide the new bushing on.

Don't forget that there's a bushing in the top, too.

Then to the other side. This is what it looks like with the bolt in.

With both bushings removed, the triple tree looks as so:

This is on the right underside with the bolt and a lock washer. Don't forget about it when you're torquing the bolt back in because the wire will rip out when it spins.

Ask me how I know...

Thankfully, there is a NAPA just a few blocks from my apartment.

As I said at the beginning, it's incredibly easy. If you have no wrenching experience, this is a really good spot to start.
I hope this helps someone.
