Hi guys.
Does anyone know what the hub bearing sounds like when it's going south?
I am hearing a knocking when I shift. It happens as I pull the clutch lever to shift, and it sounds like a bock, bock, bock, type of noise like a main bearing would make, but at a faster cadence. This happens momentarily as I first pull the lever, and as the engine speeds up before engaging in the next gear. It's quick, and it only happens as I shift and the engine races up for that split second.
I hear no other signs of a main bearing going bad, at any speed, or when revving the engine in neutral, or purposely lugging, etc. So I am sure this is not a major engine problem (well as certain as I can be right now).
Also, do they make any noise at all when just running in gear, (like wobbling a bit against the plates and the diaphragm?), which could sound like a squeal, ticking, tapping, and a few other strange sounds?
