Hi all,
over the last month I am more and more thinking to bring my 59XLH back to the original condition.
Sadly I face one major problem ... the front fork. When I bought the 59XLh, it had a Ceriani fork with spool front wheel and other racing accessories ... some time in the mid 90s I tested several setups, like a Yamaha FZR fork with dual discs, but also an original 33.4mm fork. The original fork was so bad, that I took them out after one week of riding ... the FZR fork was simply not the right style, so I ended up with the ceriani again. Much stronger than the original fork and more than sufficient for a drum brake ...
Now my question ... has anyone upgraded the original fork in any way? Like putting 35mm fork tubes in the original sliders, using stronger fork tubes or coating them with DLC or something? Can you give me any chance, to feel comfortable with the original fork?

Any comment welcome ....
thanks
Ralf
